such a round cetti's! i'm surprised it wasn't singing its heart out behind at least 500 branches and a cloak of invisbility

😂 I know it’s early days but that’s a strong contender for comment of the year

Well done capturing the Cetti's! I have often had fleeting glimpses as they have flown from one shrub to another, but never had chance to photograph one.

Your description of the chatty people made me laugh. I often wonder why they bother to go to nature reserves when they seem so uninterested in what is around them - I too find it intensely annoying sometimes :-)

Thank you, I really thought it was a wren at first. It felt like a reward for not being loud - although admittedly I had no one to be loud with!

A lovely wander! And such a beautiful spherical bird! I too mumble to myself when the loud talkers descend. I do wish people would schedule their walks around mine! 😂

Haha yes they are welcome to enjoy the space but please can they go some other time

We have cetti's on the farm but never seen them, let alone photograph one

Well done on photographing the Cetti's Gem. Shame about the car park situation. Titchwell was rammed yesterday and a large proportion of people had neither binoculars or cameras, they had dogs. It's a nature reserve for f***s sake. I think the RSPB has gone to the dogs.

Happy New Year Gem

Happy new year! They’ll all be gone soon - back to work, and you can have the place to yourself again. I am jealous, I am already looking ahead to my next visit. And to Minsmere, and the Lake District, and… !

Yeh, a whole 52 weeks ahead.

I have often heard a Cetti’s warbler, but don’t think ever seen one… – I am therefore immeasurably impressed with your photographs!

Thank you for your many wonderful wanders; all the great images; and everything I’ve learned… – long may you continue a-wandering!

Happy New Year: and I hope it brings you much more joy than this one! Best wishes… -- Stephen.

That’s so kind, thank you for being here. Here’s to seeing your first Cetti’s in 2026!

I am finding myself more and more enchanted by the plants around me - thank you for inspiring me to branch out (heh) beyond the birds with your lovely posts! Happy new year to you too.
