I had no idea Wrens were our commonest bird - thanks so much for teaching me something new about these adorable little birds ☺️

We have local Wrens along the river here, and we always know the spots where we'll hear each singing on our regular wanders. I'm always amazed by how loud their voice is, despite their small size! If we're lucky we do spot them sometimes too; their location betrayed by the loud rustling they make as they scuttle their way through the dry reeds, where they'll perch for a moment in the open, with their tail held high ❤️

I never tire of spotting these little beauties, no matter how many times I've sighted them over the years. They just have such an abounding charm 🥰

Thank you! One of my favourite birds; and one of the first I could identify by call – always telling me off! (I was convinced, when I was a toddler, that I had my own ‘personal’ wren, and that it followed me everywhere!)

I have enjoyed so many of your posts that I am feeling guilty enough to subscribe. Thank you! I need to sharpen my ears up. I see numerous robins and dunnocks in the garden and maybe flirting glances of wrens. Do they sing in the winter?

They're such cute little guys!

I’ve seen one! In Portugal. Here the Winter Wren is among the hardest to see, but also very vocal so it’s hard not to get them every year.

Aww ours is so similar to the Winter Wren - I just looked it up and it’s SO ROUND. I may have to go down the ‘wren calls’ rabbit hole now

Yeah. Check out Carolina Wren. Loudest little bird in the world 😅

Ahh I listened to a few but the Happy Wren is by the most delightful. And the Winter Wren is so similar to ours! Carolina Wren sounds like a bird you don’t want to move in next door to you 😂

They nest on our porch every year 😂😂

Wrens are wonderful. So small yet so loud. And their song is like trickling water.
