Great coos and kingfisher. Glad the camera is on the mend. I was struggling to tell goldfinches and sparrows apart in a mixed rabble this week, pleased their colour is starting to show through!

Thanks. Yes I’m glad the juvenile finches are getting a bit easier too, especially as the siskins have just arrived in my area for winter!

Now I'm going to be even more confused, mixing up siskins and greenfinches!

Hi Gem

Great read again.

Sorry you missed the Pied Flycatcher. Several on Norfolk coast at the mo.

This week I have been enjoying watching the last of the butterflies feeding on Ivy and Sedum. Today we had a few Common Carder bees on the Sedum

I love Carders, they look so soft. And Ivy Bees are lovely little things too.

I am hoping I’ll get my camera back in time for a trip to Norfolk before I start my new job. I haven’t been for a couple of years now I think - fingers crossed the plan comes together!

Sooo glad your camera is on the mend. What a drag when our gear gets damaged, but especially the cameras!

Beautiful shots, especially the bugs!

Yesterday was the best migration day for me personally. Friend and I got 52 species, and she found me my first of year Orange-crowned Warbler, which isn’t the most spectacular bird but they can be hard to find around here.

A wonderful post Gem ❤️ There really has been such an increase in Ravens, and we've been spotting so many more in recent years around Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire - we even have a few local birds which fly over home fairly regularly which is always exciting ☺️

Wow a stoat!! Incredible creature but yes so elusive!! I’ve never seen one even though there was one where I used to work, and visitors would see it all the time. The raven is a great sighting too
