Great to follow you through the wood Gem. The smaller things are very important and an essential part of the circle of life. Like the town hall clock. The big cogs wont turn if the little cogs aren’t turning.

Yes, the moss and the leaf litter are particularly interesting and valuable! Which is just as well, as the quote for repairing my camera came in and… it’s a write-off 🫠

Sorry to hear about your camera.

I was going to ask; and I’m really sorry… – especially knowing your struggle to find a job to help pay for a new one. The photographs this week are still wonderful, though! However, I bet you miss the long telephoto shots something rotten. Good luck in getting something sorted, and soon; and look after yourself.

Thank you - the new job doesn’t start for a month, but it is providing me with a little nudge to pull the trigger and get my beloved camera (and yes, that lens) back in my hands!

I was very impressed that my ancient Pixel phone managed so well though…

fantastic. Let me contribute my piece of earlier this year with somewhat similar vibe, althought your photos cannot be beaten. https://nomadicmind.substack.com/p/poland-315-am

Oh it’s wonderful - a dream destination for me. I’ve only seen fireflies once, and it was magical!

Lovely photos and observations, Gem. I know it was an old one, but I particularly loved the photo of the long-tailed tit :-)

This is a lovely piece Gem. Enjoyed the photos too. Great fungi!

Love the long tailed tit picture, one of my favourite birds. So sweet.

I have about 20 favourite birds, and they’re one of them, too!

I had a similar hat trick of tits out walking in the week, but just not spotting the fungi. Maybe I'm not looking closely enough, but am enjoying the selection in your photos here and on notes

The ones on notes have been taken over the past three or more years don’t worry 😂 there’s lots around this year here, but not quite as wide a variety as in those pics
